Can tech tools, especially the use of learning analytics, fulfill
some roles of the members of the communities of practice that citizen
scientists engage in discourse?
Can the learning analytics take
on the role of the elder in a science community initiating the newbie
members, citizen scientists, as apprentice-learners?
Can the
tech tools that use learning analytics to support the CS engagement with
the sophisticated community of practice, help bridge the gap between
the researcher and the CS?
Can the LA help CS to glean expert scientific knowledge of the scintific communities in which they engage?
Can
LA scaffolds in scientific discourse for CS help the CS transition to a
more sophisticated disciplinary stance, use primary data for knowledge
construction, and aid in generalizing claims consistent with each
disciplines argument patterns?
Can LA scaffolds then serve as a way to enculcate CS, students, etc. into specific science domains?
